Vanity Treasure, D’orsay capture NJSS divisions

East Rutherford, NJ — The 2-year-old trotting fillies stepped out in the first leg of the New Jersey Sires Stakes on Thursday night (June 30) at Meadowlands Racetrack.

Vanity Treasure scored her first career win in a NJSS division for 2-year-old trotting fillies Thursday at Meadowlands.

Vanity Treasure captured her first career win in the first NJSS division for a purse of $21,500. After stalking race leader Chilitodayhottamale for most of the race, the Muscles Yankee-Armbro Vanity daughter popped the pocket and kicked home to win in 2:00.1. Vanity Treasure was a $35,000 yearling purchase from the Standardbred Horse Sale in Harrisburg, PA. Driver-trainer Chris Ryder owns the horse along with Max and Tamra Wernick of New City, NY. Chilitodayhottamale finished a length back in second. Gerris Glide was third. Vanity Treasure paid $20.20 to win.

D’orsay took the lead at the top of the stretch and pulled away to win the second $22,000 NJSS division in 2:00.1 for driver Yannick Gingras. The filly was a $50,000 yearling purchase from the Lexington Selected Sale in Lexington, KY for owner Consus Racing Stable Inc of Delray Beach, FL. She is the daughter of Yankee Glide-Danae. Upside Hanover was second while Exercise To Go finished third. D’orsay, who is trained by Jonas Czeryson, returned $5.40.
