Velocity Chaps, a son of Well Said out of the Art’s Chip mare Velocity Chiplet, shot straight to the lead for Josh Sutton from post three. He controlled fractions of :27.2, :57.2 and 1:25.1 on his way to a two-length win. Velocity Chaps was bred and is owned by Velocity Standardbreds and trained by Mark Evers. Scioto hosted mini-series for Ohio-sired 2-year-olds who were non-winners of one race or $7,500 lifetime. Thursday’s colt pace final was the last division to complete the series. Other divisional winners were Miss Cowboy Star (filly trot) in 1:57.2, Aviation (colt trot) in 1:57.2, and She Means Business (filly pace) in 1:54.2.
