Vernon, NY — Vernon Downs will sport bigger purses starting with the Friday (Sept. 1) card. Purses have been increased roughly 20 percent for all classes.

Jason Settlemoir, Vice President of Racing, said, “With 10 cancellations so far this meet and racing less races we have extra money in the purse account and want to reward the horsemen that have supported us in 2017. I would also hope with the purse increase Race Secretary Scott Warren will get a few more horses in the entry box to work with for the remainder of the meet.”

The Vernon Downs meet concludes on Saturday (Nov. 4).
