Victoria Howard to appear at Hoosier Park for book signing

by Indiana Standardbred Association

Westfield, IN — Renowned author Victoria Howard will be visiting Hoosier Park on June 13 on the same evening that Hoosier Park Racing & Casino and the Indiana Standardbred Association (ISA) will be hosting the annual Girl Scout Open House. The event gives more than 300 young women the opportunity to see live racing and learn more about various facets of the racing industry as well as get up close time with horses.

Ms. Howard will be autographing copies of her delightful children’s book The Adventures of Max and Molly which tells the story of friendship between a dog and a Standardbred racehorse. She has been involved with harness racing for more than 35 years as an owner and breeder and has published 10 books.

Susan Askren, ISA Promotion Committee Chairman said “We heard about Ms. Howard’s book and thought a special appearance by her might provide another highlight for the scouts. This book illustrates the really positive elements that a horse can teach to kids who are animal lovers.”

Ms. Howard is “really excited about visiting Hoosier Park” as she enjoys every opportunity to share her excitement about harness racing. She recently visited The Meadowlands to promote her latest writing effort Roosevelt Raceway: Where It All Began which is due out this fall and chronicles the history of the historic track in Westbury, New York.

Hoosier Park’s racing action will begin 5:15 PM and Ms. Howard will be available for book autographs to the general public throughout the evening.
