Vivians Dream sets Vernon track record in NYSS

Vernon, NY — Vivians Dream and Jordan Stratton charged late to capture Saturday’s (Aug. 27) $110,100 New York Sire Stakes for 2-year-old pacing fillies in track record fashion at Vernon Downs.

Earthwindfire (driven by Jack Pelling) went straight to the lead, but yielded to Vivians Dream at the :26.4 first quarter. Twin B Joe Fresh (Jason Bartlett) brushed from third and took the lead as they headed down the backstretch, leading to the half in :55.1 and preserving her lead by the 1:23.2 three-quarters in 1:23.2 while Earthwindfire challenged on the outside.

As they made the turn for home, Twin B Joe Fresh shook off Earthwindfire, but Vivians Dream popped the pocket and went after the leader. Twin B Joe Fresh gave everything she had, but Vivians Dream went on by to stop the clock in 1:50.4, four-fifths of a second faster than the previous 2-year-old pacing filly track record held by See You At Peelers (2010) and Zero Tolerance (2018).
