The $200,000 Grand Critérium de Vitesse de la Côte d’Azur, which is the richest one-mile race in France, looked like a match between Davidson du Pont (Jean-Michel Bazire) and Vivid Wise As (Alessandro Gocciadoro). However, Davidson du Pont went off stride shortly after the start and was disqualified. That left the scene to Vivid Wise As, who took the early lead and stayed on to win in 1:52.4 over Delia du Pommereux (Eric Raffin) and Bahia Quesnot (Junior Guelpa).

The winner’s share of the purse was $91,500.

Vivid Wise As, who is sired by Yankee Glide, is owned by Scuderia Bivans, who is also the main owner of Face Time Bourbon.
