Wagner reaches 5,000 win plateau

Dover, DE — On a rainy Thursday (Feb. 16) driver John Wagner recorded the 5,000th victory of his career at Dover Downs.

Driver John Wagner recorded career win number 5,000 on Thursday at Dover Downs.

Wagner’s milestone win came driving Lillian Petrone and Susan Camac’s Marong A, an 11-year-old altered son of SJ’s Photo-Callamar Belle to a 1:59.2 victory in a $7,500 Delaware claiming trot.

Outlaw captured the $13,500 4&5-year-old featured pace over a ‘good’ track.

With meet leading driver Corey Callahan in the bike, Outlaw was at his best behavior scoring a 1:58.2 triumph. The win was the third straight and fourth in five lifetime starts for the Muscles Yankee-Ferrari Of owned by Dolly Callahan and Erica Hanley. Outlaws only setback came in mid-January when he broke stride and finished distanced. Why Not Lindy (Tony Morgan) was second with Taste Of Paradise (Frank Milby) settling for third.

Allan Davis, who has come into his own this meet enjoying his finest season, Jim Morand and Corey Callahan, each won two races.
