Wagner wins three at Rosecroft

by Pete Medhurst, for Rosecroft Raceway

Ft. Washington, MD — Driver John Wagner won three races on Sunday night (Dec. 17) at Rosecroft, including an exciting seven horse photo in race 10 with Little TJ to highlight the card.

Wagner sported a second over trip to win for owners VIP Internet Stable, Greg Trotto and Fred Sporrer. It was second straight win for the 3-year old Pacific Renegade gelding, and third for the new owners since the purchase in October. Jason Walters conditions the horse.

Walters had a double on the night as Wagner won with Jacob’s Money for the Graceful Pace Farm. Wagner won the opener with Rockin Glory for trainer Joe Eisenhower.

Russell Foster won the $10,000 Open Handicap feature with Kiss A Dragon. Normally a come from behind specialist, Foster turned the tables on chief rival Rock N Roll Jet by brushing to the front just after the opening quarter and stopping the timer in 1:51. Foster owns and trains the son of Dragon Again and it was Foster’s 318th driving win of the year. He leads Frank Milby 42-38 going into the final night next Saturday of the Fall meet.

Milby and Allan Davis had driving doubles, while Ken Schlotzhauer had a training double.

Next Saturday’s finale will feature a $1,140 carryover in the Pick-5 wager.
