Wallace Collins, 76, dies

Columbus, OH — Wallace F. Collins, 76, died July 12, 2011, at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Mr. Collins was born Jan. 13, 1935, to the late Joseph and Clara Howard Collins in Columbus. He was a retired truck driver for Suburban Motor Freight, loved golfing and horse racing, and was a member of the USTA.

Mr. Collins is survived by his longtime companion, Mona Almond; sons, Doug (Patty) and Dean (Glenda); daughter, Diane (Frank) Elliott; stepdaughters, B.J. (Bob) Mack and Hope (Richard) Huntzinger; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Alwida Dean Collins; son, Dana; and brothers, Swede, Gene and Bob.

Visitation will be held on Friday (July 15) from 4-8 p.m. at Woodyard East Chapel, 2300 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will be held Saturday (July 16) at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
