Toronto, ON — ‘Tis the season for milestones. Jody Jamieson has recently shattered the Canadian and North American single-season win records, and fellow driver Randy Waples is currently closing in on 5,000 lifetime wins.

The 45-year-old linesman, a double O’Brien Award winner as driver of the year, has posted 4,993 lifetime wins as of December 16, 2009. With nine drives lined up for December 17 at Woodbine, another 10 for Friday, December 18 (including Dreamfair Eternal, who is 4-5 in the eighth race, an Open event for fillies and mares), and 11 on Saturday, December 19 (among them two-time Gold Cup and Saucer winner, Silent Swing), Waples is on track to reach the milestone well before the New Year.

Also approaching a career milestone is veteran driver, Rick Zeron, who has 6,984 wins as of December 16 and is gunning for the magic 7,000.
