WEG announces holiday schedule

Toronto, ON — Woodbine Entertainment Group today announced schedule amendments for live racing and qualifiers during the holiday season and upcoming new year.

Woodbine will offer plenty of live Standardbred racing action over this holiday season. The final live race card prior to Christmas will be held on Saturday (Dec. 22) with a 7:10 p.m. post time.

The Toronto oval will be dark on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) and Christmas Day (Dec. 25), with live racing returning on Boxing Day (Dec. 26), featuring a 1 p.m. post time. Entries must be declared on Thursday (Dec. 20).

Racing will continue on Thursday (Dec. 27) with a 7:10 p.m. scheduled post time. Entries will be accepted on Friday (Dec. 21).

Other changes to the draw schedule are as follows:

  • Friday (Dec. 28) card (7:25 p.m. post time) will be drawn on Saturday (Dec. 22)
  • Saturday (Dec. 29) card (7:25 p.m. post time) will be drawn on Wednesday (Dec. 26)

The entry box closes at 10:30 a.m. each day.

There will also be live racing on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31) with a 1 p.m. post time. Woodbine will be dark for live racing on New Year’s Day (Jan. 1).

With the Mohawk backstretch now closed, qualifiers will be conducted at Woodbine on Thursday evenings at 5 p.m.

The last qualifying session of 2012 will be held on Thursday (Dec. 20) and the first of 2013 will take place on Thursday (Jan. 3).

There will be no qualifiers scheduled during the week of Dec. 23.

Also in the new year, Woodbine will race four nights a week: Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. First race post time is 7:25 p.m.
