Ken Weingartner offers his picks for the $10,000 Pick-4 at Maywood Park on May 26, part of the USTA Strategic Wagering program. Maywood Park Pick-4, Races 8-11, Thursday, May 26, 2011 My first try at Maywood’s $10,000 guaranteed Pick-4 produced three winners. Of course, that is one shy of what’s needed to claim the prize. Here we go again. I had trouble finding long shots, so I took it easy. $1 play: 14/3/26/13 = $8 Analysis: Race 8: Tillyfilly (1) got a tightener off a two-month break, drops in class and gets the rail. Nashville Kitty (4) looks to have had a rough go the last time out and might be overlooked. She is 6-1 in the morning line. Race 9: She’s Aware (3) won last week in her first race since August. It’s hard to pick against her here. Race 10: Timeless Artist (6) just missed last week from post eight. Ronny B Good (2) got parked in most recent and raced well previously at this level. She is 6-1 in morning line. Race 11: Sweet Talkin Tom (3) comes in from Balmoral, has fared well previously at Maywood, and looks to have the early speed to take advantage of post. Hurricane Finale (1) finished strong from post eight the last time out and is making third start of year. He could be ready to roll. And when in doubt, throw in the horse on the rail.
