Western Fair qualifiers start Oct.14

London, ON — Qualifiers at The Raceway at Western Fair District commence on Friday (Oct. 14), the same day live racing returns to the London, Ontario half-mile oval. Horsemen are reminded to enter for qualifiers by Thursday at 9 a.m.

The draw for the first live card of the year will take place on Monday (Oct. 10), with the entry box closing at 9 a.m. Note that the race office will open this Friday.

The new schedule will see racing four days a week, Mondays and Tuesdays with a 3:35 p.m. post time, and Fridays and Saturdays which have a 7:05 p.m. start.

One of the first stakes on the calendar for the Fall Meet is the Middlesex County Series for Ontario-sired pacers and trotters, male and female, who are 4-years-old and younger and non-winners of C$10,000 lifetime as of September 1, 2011.

The lists of nominations for each are now available on The Raceway’s website.

The schedule for the Middlesex Series for all divisions is as follows: First leg: Friday, Oct. 21; Second leg: Friday, Oct. 28; Final: Saturday, Nov. 5.
