WHHC entries increased to 1,250

from the USTA Communications Department

Columbus, OH — Due to popular demand and the fact that each of the first six contests of the USTA World Harness Handicapping Championship Free, Online Qualifying Series reached the limit of 1,000 contestants, the limit on entries will be increased to 1,250 for the remaining four contests starting with Northfield Park on Friday (Feb. 8) and Pompano Park on Saturday (Feb. 9).

The free entries are available at www.horsetourneys.com.

“We decided to increase the number of entries because we saw week by week that the contests were filling up more quickly and reaching the 1,000 limit earlier,” explained USTA Director of Marketing and Communications Dan Leary. “This is our first time conducting an online handicapping contest and it’s free, so we want to make it available to everyone who wants to play for a chance to go to the World Harness Handicapping Championship in April.”

The USTA World Harness Handicapping Championship Free, Online Qualifying Series consists of 10 tournaments at 10 different USTA member tracks over five consecutive weekends that will continue through Feb. 16. The winner of each qualifier gains a berth ($1,000 value) into the WHHC final at the Meadowlands.
