Whittemore gets 1,000th win at Vernon

Vernon, NY — Driver Jimmy Whittemore wasted no time Thursday night (July 17), capturing three of the first four races and in doing so notched career win 1,000.

In race one Whittemore guided Love You Bye to a last to first victory in 1:52.2. The 5-year-old McArdle-Cam’s Genious mare is owned by Jimmy Whittemore and trained by his father Dennis Whittemore. Love You Bye is closing in on $200,000 in career earnings.
Race three saw Campbell Muscles (Muscles Yankee-Millennium Chip) score her first career win and give Jimmy a driving double and career win 999. Campbell Muscles scored by 3-1/4 lengths in 2:00 for owner-trainer Scott West.
Misty Major went wire-to-wire in race four to give Jimmy Whittemore his 1,000th career driving win. Misty Major (Major In Art-Lady Artemise) tied her career mark of 1:54.3 and is conditioned by Angus MacDonald and owned by E J Treadway.
Jimmy Whittemore, a native of Norway, Maine, is a three-time driving champion at the Miracle Mile and currently sits fourth in the Vernon Downs driver’s standings.
