Who’s Who wins Paralympia Trot in Sweden

The first Group one race in Sweden in 2022, the Paralympia Trot, with a purse for the winner of $150,000, was won by Who’s Who (sired by Maharajah), trained by Pasi Aikio and with top Swedish driver Ôrjan Kihlström in the bike.

Who’s Who won the 1-5/16th mile event in 1:55.4f (mile rate). Kanal 75 photo.

Who’s Who, an 8-year-old trotter owned by Travkompaniet and bred by Margareta Wallenius-Kleberg, took an early lead and was in command all the way. He won the 1-5/16th mile event in 1:55.4f (mile rate), followed by Extreme with Björn Goop and Night Brodde with Conrad Lugauer.

Kihlström was the man in the spotlight as he also won The Kings Trophy with Daniel Redén-trained Fransesco Zet, a 4-year-old trotter sired by Father Patrick. Fransesco Zet seemed to be in a class of his own and won easily, also in 1:55.4f (mile rate).

“This horse is something special. He has a wonderful technique and I believe he will have a very good future,” trainer Daniel Redén said after the race.

In the Queens Trophy, Kihlström was behind Redén’s Glamorous Rain, who finished third. The race was won by Italian bred, but Dutch owned and trained Chebba Mil (she by Readly Express), who won in 1:55.2f (mile rate).

The purse for the winner in the two royal races was 1 million SEK — or $100,000.
