Race favorite Sicily assumed command from post four, where he set fractions of 27.1, 56.3 and 1:25, while Slick Tony battled first-over and Wichita Lineman awaited in the pocket. As they reached the stretch, Sicily faded, while perfectly positioned Wichita Lineman and driver Mike Cole surged to the lead and held off a game Slick Tony for the 1:53.3 victory. Proper One rallied for third.

Owned and trained by Gary Simpson, it was the 20th career win for Wichita Lineman ($27.40), a 7-year-old Bettor’s Delight gelding.

Tim Tetrick had three wins on the card.

Live racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule.
