Wild Honey proves she is prepared for an appearance in the Prix d’Amerique by finishing third in a qualifying contest on Sunday in Paris.
The 5-year old mare finished third Sunday afternoon (Jan. 15) in the Prix de Belgique at Vincennes, Paris, France.
Driven by French top driver Franck Nivard, Wild Honey was full of trot down the stretch and past the post.
She was just beaten a length by the surprising winner Briac Dark driven by David Thomain and the favorite Call Me Keeper driven by Björn Goop.
Call Me Keeper is a stablemate to Wild Honey. They are trained by Daniel Redén, who also trains the fourth place horse in the race, Lionel, driven in this race by Matthieu Abrivard.
Redén also was scheduled to race Propulsion, but had to scratch the horse from today’s contest because of a problem with a hind leg.
“Propulsion has a minor swelling in a hind leg – nothing serious,” he said.
Redén now has four trotters qualified for the Prix d’Amerique.
