Willard Behm, 89, dies

Columbus, OH — Willard G. Behm, 89, of Adrian, Mich., died May 10, 2011, at Toledo Hospital.

He was born May 15, 1921, in Deerfield Twp., Mich., to Robert and Wilhelmina (Jasmund) Behm. Mr. Behm graduated from Blissfield High School and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. On April 6, 1945, at Christ Church in Penge, England, he married Marjorie W. Fenoulhet.

Mr. Behm spent his life farming and at one time had the highest producing milk cow listed in the Guinness Book of Records. For many years he owned and raced Standardbreds.

He was an avid baseball fan of Stetson University in Deland, Florida. He also served as a board member for Production Credit.

In addition to his wife, Marjorie, he is survived by a son, Gary, and his children, Jeffre (Kristi) and Tiffani (Greg); daughters, Shayna (Steve) Pickle, and their sons, Ryan and Chad; Shelley (Gregg) Hardy, and their son, Parker; brother, Harlan; sister, Margaret Russell; and five great-grandchildren, Jeffre, Jagger, Jettsen, Morgan, and Mallory. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Nelson; and granddaughter, Kristin Lynn.
