Williams discusses first decade of stud book limits

Columbus, OH — Russell Williams, president of the United States Trotting Association, discussed the 140-head limit that was imposed on Standardbred stallions in 2009 and its positive effects on the genetic diversity of the breed in a recent story published on the Paulick Report.

The story explores the effects of the cap on the Standardbred breeding industry through the past decade in the light of a proposal by The Jockey Club to impose a similar limit on Thoroughbred stud books.
