Chesapeake City, MD — The largest contingent of Delaware-sired and Maryland-sired yearlings to be sold at one time this year takes place this Friday, October 12, at the third annual Winbak Farm Select Yearling Sale at Winbak Farm’s flagship location, in Chesapeake City. The first of 52 promising colts and fillies will go under the auctioneer’s gavel at 12:00 Noon.

All Winbak Delaware-sired yearlings as well as the Maryland-sired trotters and pacers are each eligible to the Maryland Standardbred Race Fund (MSRF) stakes.

The Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) stakes program offers six events for each yearling at 2 and then again at 3. Each season has two $20,000 preliminary legs and two $110,000 finals plus a $25,000 consolation in each of the four divisions for both trotters and pacers at both Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway. The Maryland Sires Stakes (MDSS) compete in events at Rosecroft and Ocean Downs raceways.
