East Rutherford, NJ — Tattersalls Sales Co. has announced that entries are now being accepted for the company’s annual Winter Mixed Sale, to be held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday (Jan. 20) at the Meadowlands.
The sale, formerly called the January Select Mixed Sale, was renamed in keeping with the format of the company’s other Meadowlands mixed auctions held in the spring and summer.
“This is still a select sale, and traditionally it’s been by far our biggest and our best,” said manager David Reid.
“The owners, trainers and breeders who support this sale and target it every year bring outstanding quality, which makes it an excellent sale across the board… for racehorses, broodmares and stallion shares.
“If the recent marketplace showed us anything, it’s that there’s still an incredible demand for racehorses and well-bred race fillies and mares. Everyone planning to sell here will have another chance to tap into those big prices.”
The Winter Mixed, which draws a large crowd of buyers from the U.S., Canada and abroad, has generated more than $17-million in total sales over the past three years and has averaged at or close to $30,000 each year.
Entries can be directed to one’s sales agent, submitted online at tattersallsredmile.com, or called into the sales office at (914) 773-7777.
