Wishing Stone remains on top in Poll

Freehold, NJ — Older male trotter Wishing Stone increased his lead in the weekly Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll despite not racing, but is facing a new challenger for the No. 1 spot.
Three-year-old male pacer Captaintreacherous gained 93 points after winning his elimination for Saturday’s North America Cup and vaulted from fourth place to second. Captaintreacherous was last season’s Pacer of the Year.
Another North America Cup contender, Vegas Vacation, jumped into this week’s rankings at No. 7 while older male pacer Pet Rock, who won the Roll With Joe last weekend, debuts at No. 10.
Bee A Magician, who is 4-for-4 after winning her elimination for Saturday’s Elegantimage Stakes for 3-year-old female trotters, moved from ninth to sixth in the rankings.
Eight horses received at least one first-place vote.
Bolt The Duer and Modern Family dropped from the Top 10, but both were fewer than six points from inclusion.
