Woodbine Mohawk Park to celebrate International Women’s Day

Milton, ON — Woodbine Entertainment is proud to celebrate International Women’s Day during this Saturday’s (March 7) card of live racing at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

The Woodbine Racing Live simulcast show will be entirely dedicated to women in harness racing, featuring interviews and selections from prominent females in the sport.

Jessica Buckley, Vice-President of Standardbred and Thoroughbred racing, will welcome viewers when the show goes live at 6:30 p.m.

Host Monique Vág will then be joined by Joanne Colville (Woodbine outrider, Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society), Nancy Takter (Grand Circuit trainer) and Natasha Day (driver).

The show will also include selections from female handicappers and a video tribute to women in harness racing prior to the evening’s first race. Once the races begin, Chad Rozema will be catching up with female participants for interviews between races.

The evening’s third race is the C$32,000 Mares Preferred Pace and will be the International Women’s Day Race. All female racing participants are invited to the winner’s circle for the post-race presentation.

Woodbine Cares will also be making a presentation to the Halton Women’s Place following the third race. The presentation will feature a check and food donation following a month of fundraising, which was led by Woodbine Mohawk Park’s Lynn Koprowski and Robin MacKay.
