Workin Ona Mystery is back-to-back #SendItIn Winner

Columbus, OH – Workin Ona Mystery became the first back-to-back #SendItIn Invitational winner at Eldorado Scioto Downs on Saturday evening (Aug. 28). Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. piloted the Brian Brown trainee to a half length victory in 1:49.1 in the $100,000 event.

Leaving from post five, Workin Ona Mystery got the perfect pocket trip behind Ocean Rock (Dan Noble) who left out of the nine hole to a wicked :25.2 opening quarter. The pair led through a :53.4 half with Brassy Hanover (Aaron Merriman) making a first over bid. By the 1:20.4 three-quarters, Brassy Hanover had had enough and Workin Ona Mystery pulled midway through the last turn to challenge Ocean Rock. Gold Digger King, after sitting on Workin Ona Mystery‘s back for the entire mile, went up the passing lane to be second. This Is The Plan (Chris Page) went deep into the passing lane to be third.

Workin Ona Mystery went off at 6-1 and paid $15.80 to win. The 5-year-old stallion is by Captaintreacherous out of the Dragon Again mare Dragon’s Tale. He is owned by Diamond Creek Racing, Stambaugh Leeman Stable, Alan Keith, and Wingfield Brothers. Workin Ona Mystery now has 13 wins in 34 lifetime starts and $708,579 in lifetime earnings.

There were also a trio of Opens on the Saturday card.

The Open Trot was won by Jailhouse Sam and trainer/driver Hugh “Sandy” Beatty in 1:53.2. Refined (Brett Miller) made it to the front after the :27 opening quarter with broken equipment (both headpoles came undone). The mare continued on the lead through a :55.2 half and 1:24.1 three-quarters. Jailhouse Sam came three-wide around the last turn to win by a half length. Pass The Vape (Trevor Smith) got up for second and Refined held on for third. Jailhouse Sam paid $44.20 to win.

Drama Act continued her domination of the Fillies and Mares Open by winning in 1:50.2 for the Page/Burke combination. The OK Corral owns the 4-year-old mare by Well Said who led through opening fractions of :26.3, :55.3 and 1:23.3. Penpaperpaige (Tyler Smith) was second and Miss You N (Miller) finished third.

Elver Hanover took the Horses and Geldings Open in 1:49.4 for Chris Page and Ron Burke. Leaving from post six, Elver Hanover went straight to the front for an opening quarter of :26.2 but gave way to Dojean Gizmo (Trevor Smith) for the :54.4 half and 1:22 three-quarters. Page pulled Elver Hanover at the three-quarter pole and won by a neck over Dojean Gizmo. Wild Bill (Ty. Smith) finished third another neck back
