World champion Sassa Hanover retires

Randolph, NJ — World champion pacer Sassa Hanover has been retired and will start her broodmare career.

Sassa Hanover retires with 23 wins in 81 career starts, and lifetime earnings of $1,227,824.

Owned by Burke Racing Stable, The Panhellenic Stable Corp., Weaver Bruscemi and Larry Karr, Sassa Hanover’s prolific career included wins at age 2 in the Matron Stakes, divisions of the Bluegrass and International Stallion stakes, and multiple New York Sire Stakes races. She finished second in the Breeders Crown.

At 3, Sassa Hanover won the Jugette, Courageous Lady, a division of the Adioo Volo, multiple New York Sire Stakes races and again finished second in the Breeders Crown.

She also finished second in the Breeders Crown as a 4-year-old.

A beautiful and well-bred daughter of Rock N Roll Heaven out of Sayo Hanover, Sassa Hanover retires with 23 wins in 81 career starts, and lifetime earnings of $1,227,824.

She now looks forward to her next career as a broodmare and is being bred to the brilliant Sweet Lou (aka @greatwhiteblaze on Twitter).
