World Driving Championship competitors head to Wagga Wagga

from Harness Racing Australia

Today we arrived in Wagga Wagga which is the largest inland city in New South Wales with a population of about 70,000. The drive was about five hours in the bus, but with a couple of stops this stretched to about six hours.

The drivers enjoyed a very special dinner and social evening at the hotel while watching the rain. Tomorrow the drivers have a full schedule with a visit to the well known Yirribee stud for a morning tea, followed by a visit to a school where a number of the pupils are involved in pony trots before heading off to a civic reception and then to the races.

There are seven heats of the World Driving Championships on the 800 meter (half-mile) Wagga Wagga showgrounds circuit so the racing is sure to be keenly contested.
