The 4-year-old gelding challenged Mister Lucky Vec and cleared going to the quarter in 28 seconds. Docdor Chaser moved up to challenge during the early stages as Mister Lucky Vec sat the two-hole behind the tempo setter through a :57 half and 1:27.2 three-quarter time. Docdor Chaser held his ground while parked out but never posed a serious threat to Wrigley who led throughout, stopping the timer in a career best 1:57.3. Mister Lucky Vec took second money while Reece Lightnin’ shook free on the far turn, rallying to grab third. Docdor Chaser faded late while the classy Campbell Hall broke stride early.

Wrigley’s winning time was just one fifth of a second off the track record. He is owned by John Laing and Brian Walker.
