Hamburg, NY – In the featured $10,000 Open Trot, reinsman Keith Kash, Jr. made it to the winner’s circle for the fourth time on a beautiful spring night with a fast track, steering Imagianthit to his eighth win of the season in 1:59.1 here at Buffalo Raceway on Friday night (May 11).
Owned by The Inquisitive Stable Llc. of Macedonia Ohio, the 9-year-old Giant Hit gelding got a perfect garden spot behind second place finishers Prime Interest and reinsman Kevin Cummings who set the fractions in the race, :29.1, :58, and 1:29 to the three-quarter mark. It was a good stretch battle that saw Imagianthit win by one-half length. Cade Callihan (Jim McNeight) came in the show spot.
“He seems to be back to his old self again,” said Kash, Jr. “I saw that Kevin’s horse (Prime Interest) had a broken head pole so I pulled him to the outside just passed the three-quarter pole.”
The $5,000 share of the winning purse put Imagianthit’s 2007 bankroll at $45,586 and $192,531 lifetime.
Hippique Wins Co-feature Trot!
In the $6,500 fourth race trot, Hippique and trainer-driver Phil Laframboise made every pole a winning one as the 5-year-old Enjoy Lavec gelding won for the second time this year in season’s best time of 2:01.3 for owner Elma Laframboise of Batavia, NY.
Leaving sharply from post six in the field of eight, Hippique and driver Laframboise were on the engine as they set all the fractions in the race, :30, 1:00.2 and 1:31.2 to the three-quarter beam. A :30.1 last quarter-mile was all that was needed to beat second place finishers Shout and driver Keith Kash, Jr. by 1-1/2 lengths. Gust and reinsman Steve Lindell came in third.
The $3,250 share of the winning purse boosted Hippique’s 2007 bankroll to $5,790 and $42,420 lifetime.
