Yearling Prep Seminar agenda topics announced

Columbus, OH — The USTA and Pin Oak Lane Farm are teaming up to offer a Yearling Preparation Seminar on Saturday, August 1, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., with a sandwich lunch served.

This seminar is aimed at small breeders to help them prepare their yearlings for sale but anyone is welcome to attend. Topics will include weaning processes and how it affects your timeline, preparing, feeding and exercising the yearling; stake nominations; advertising; final sales preparation and what to do at the sale.

Pin Oak Lane Farm , located 1 hour south of Harrisburg and 2-1/4 hours west of Philadelphia, serves both Thoroughbred and Standardbred interests. They stand 10 Thoroughbred stallions at their Pennsylvania farm and Standardbreds Straight Up Lindy (Conway Hall–Rum Boogie–Valley Victory) and Up Front Charlie (Dragon Again–Lovin Yankee–On The Road Again) at the Maryland Division. Owner Dr. William Solomon, who established the farm in 1973, was previously the resident veterinarian at Hanover Shoe Farms and Castleton Farm. There is no seminar fee for USTA members; non-members may attend for a small registration fee of $25.
