Yonder Hall captures Plainridge Open

by Joe Hartmann, for Plainridge Racecourse

Plainville, MA — Yonder Hall, a five-year-old son of Conway Hall-Yankee Go Go by Defiant Yankee, took command after the half-mile mark and trotted to a new lifetime mark of 1:56 with a victory in the Open Trot on Tuesday (August 23) at Plainridge Racecourse.

Owned by Harry Parker and trainer Jefra Parker and driven by Jim Marohn, Jr., Yonder Hall scored his second win in his past three starts and third in 13 attempts this season. Jay See Eye N finished second and Yankee Boy was third.

In a Fillies and Mares event later on the card, the Joel Wheeler owned and trained Ex Libris Hanover grabbed the lead just past the quarter and held off the feverish charge of Alilshy to pace home in 1:55.1. All The Options was third. It was the third win on the program for Marohn and a seasonal best for Ex Libris Hanover, a five-year-old daughter of Life Sign-Shy Rookie by Albert Albert.
