Yonkers cancels after three races on Monday

Yonkers, NY — In theory, spring arrives Wednesday, but that small factoid didn’t stop Old Man Winter from making one last seasonal stand in the greater New York area.

Monday night’s (March 18) scheduled dozen-race Yonkers Raceway program was curtailed after three races due to wind-driven snow, which made for harness racing’s version of unsafe driving conditions.

None of Monday’s four divisions of the second round of the Petticoat Pacing Series went to post. That round shall not be made up, with the third and final preliminary round scheduled for next Monday night (March 25).

The Raceway’s five night per week live schedule continues — weather permitting — with first post every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:10 p.m. Evening simulcasting accompanies all live programs, with afternoon simulcasting available around the NYRA schedule.
