Yonkers enjoys first million-dollar handle of season

Yonkers, NY — Yonkers Raceway enjoyed its biggest handle of the young season on Tuesday night (Jan. 22), with $1,017,797 wagered on the 12-race card.

Brian Sears added to his lead in the driver standings with four winners, including both halves of the $13.60 early daily double. Sears now has 29 wins in the first nine racing nights.

George Brennan won twice, with Eric Goodell, Jeff Gregory, Matt Kakaley, Jim Pantaleano, Larry Stalbaum and Jordan Stratton winning one race each.

Horsemen are reminded that nomination blanks are now available for Yonkers Raceway’s Petticoat and Sagamore Hill Pacing Series (deadline Feb. 1) along with Blue Chip Matchmaker and George Morton Levy Memorial Pacing Series (deadline March 1).
