Yonkers, NY — Fast math question…When does $6,537.25 and $10,000 add up to $24,654.75? When it’s the balance sheet from Yonkers Raceway’s Monday night (Oct. 5) Pick-5.

The usual $10,000 Monday guaranteed pool was enriched with $6,537.25 of carryover coin, so it attracted $24,654.75 of fresh green.

After takeout from the new money, that left a pool $25,028.31 (give or take some loose change). The winning combination of 4-1-4-6-1 returned $1,191.75 for every correct 50-cent wager.

Speaking of Pick-5s, we again offer a reminder about Saturday’s International Trot matinee card (first post 2 p.m.), with a $75,000 guaranteed pool and $25,000 of seed money. The Pick-5 that day only is comprised of races two through six, with the International going as the fourth race (program pages shall be made available at www.yonkersraceway.com no later than Wednesday evening).
