Yonkers, NY — Yonkers Raceway is instituting a purse increase specifically for the claiming colony out there.

Beginning with the race week of Monday (May 20), the new purse structure reads as such:

Base Price-Purses (Current/New)
$12,500 claimers *p-t (or non-winners of $5,000 last five starts) was $10,000 now $12,500
$15,000 claimers was $13,000 now $14,500
$20,000 claimers was $16,500 now $17,500
$25,000 claimers was $17,500 now $19,500
$30,000 claimers was $20,000 now $22,000
$40,000 claimers was $22,000 now $25,000
$50,000 claimers was $26,000 now $28,000
