Yonkers’ Sunday matinees return this weekend

Yonkers, NY — Yonkers Raceway’s “French-centric” Sunday matinees return this weekend (Nov. 8).

First post for the dozen-race card is 11:25 a.m., with the first seven races — all oversized-field trots going at the 1-1/4 mile distance — being simulcast overseas.

The Sundays run through Dec. 13, with the exception of Dec. 6. First posts shall either be 11:15 a.m. or 11:25 a.m., but to try and keep things consistent, 11:15 is going to be what’s listed for each.

Sunday’s card is highlighted by a $50,000 Open Handicap Trot (third race), with Luminosity (George Brennan) sent “behind the 10-hole” in search of a fourth consecutive win and sixth in his last seven tries.

To remind, the return of Sundays meant the end of Thursday live racing/evening simulcasting (effective after last week’s program). A current schedule is always available at www.yonkersraceway.com.
