Yonkers’ Thursday Pick-5 features $25,000 guaranteed pool

Yonkers, NY — We reiterate the phrase no handicapper ever tires of hearing…”Free Money Here.”

Due in large part to a 45-1 sequence-buster, Yonkers Raceway’s Tuesday night Pick-5 wager — and its $10,000 guaranteed pool — was not hit.

So, Thursday’s Third of July wager now features a $25,000 guaranteed pot, with a $7,500 sweetener.

The Pick-5 is a 50-cent base wager offered on races 5 through 9 nightly. It has no consolation payoff, meaning if no one selects all five winners (as was the case Tuesday), the entire pool (minus takeout) moves to the next racing program.

The Pick-5 regularly offers a $10,000 guaranteed pool every Monday and Tuesday (in conjunction with the US Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program), with program pages for those “guarantee” days available for perusal at http://www.yonkersraceway.com/.

This past Monday’s gimmick—with a $25,000 dowry and nearly $9,400 from a double carryover—attracted more than $31,000 of new money, so Thursday’s final pool figures to be quite significant.

The Raceway’s five-night-per-week live schedule continues, with first post every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:10 PM. Evening simulcasting accompanies all live programs, with afternoon simulcasting available daily.
