Yonkers to be dark in early June

by Frank Drucker, publicity director, Empire City at Yonkers Raceway

Yonkers, NY — Consider this a friendly reminder for Yonkers Raceway horsemen, fans, and simulcast partners. Yonkers is taking an early-June live racing break, as previously scheduled and approved by the New York State Racing and Wagering Board.

After the Saturday, May 30, program, Yonkers does not race again until Saturday night, June 6. There will be no live racing on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (June 1, 2, 4 and 5).

The regular five-program-per-week schedule (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday) resumes the week of June 8. First post for all racing programs — including Memorial Day (May 25) — is 7:10 p.m. Afternoon simulcasting will continue around the NYRA schedule.
