Yonkers, NY — With Opening Day 19 afternoons away, Yonkers Raceway has thrown down the gauntlet with oversized purses.

The 2017 seasons begins — pending approval from the New York State Gaming Commission — with a ‘French’ Sunday (Jan. 8) with post time TBA.

To offer appreciation to the rank and file, the first-day purse structure is highlighted by a $75,000 Open Handicap Trot (1-1/4 miles) and a $60,000 Open Handicap Pace (flat mile).

Other classes also feature enhanced purses, which can be seen in this condition sheet.
