Toronto, ON — When Thursday night’s (Jan. 6) first elimination of the Blizzard Stakes takes place at Woodbine Racetrack, trainer Bob Young will be looking for a much improved effort from his entry, I Love Too Much.

After finishing third in her elimination of the Niagara Stakes two starts ago, the 4-year-old daughter of Western Terror finished a disappointing ninth in the C$60,000 final.

“That was just a horrible race last week,” Young stated. “Luc (Ouellette) said the further she went the worse she was. We drew blood on her and found out that she tied up. She raced on Boxing Day so she had Christmas off and raced in the afternoon so it all makes sense.”

Coming into Thursday night’s event, I Love Too Much has career earnings of $57,444 with a 1:53.3s speed record. She has posted three victories from 28 career efforts.

She will face seven rivals Thursday with the top five advancing to next week’s C$60,000 final and Young remains positive that his pupil will secure a spot.

“I’m confident she can make the final,” he said. “She finished third in both her Niagara and Autumn Stakes eliminations, so I think she can go with these mares.”

If she does advance to next week’s final, it will likely be the final start she has under Young’s care.

“She’s entered into the Meadowlands Sale (2011 January Select Mixed Sale at The Meadowlands on Jan. 17),” he added. “She’s a very sound horse and my owners own younger horses with me so it’s a good time to cash in and roll the money towards the February and March stake payments. I’m sure other trainers and owners are doing that, as well.”

Co-owned by Young and Ken Richards, Blair Corbeil and William Childs, I Love Too Much will be looking to add a couple more paydays before her departure.

She will go to post in Thursday night’s opening race scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
