Three teenagers, all veterans of the Youth Foundation’s educational programs and experienced in horse care, will assist in directing visitors at the event and in leaving the barn area at Historic Track tidy at the end of the day.

The Racing Breeds Adoption Fair will feature more than a dozen Standardbred and Thoroughbred racehorses in need of new careers, along with greyhounds and barn cat candidates.

“We’re delighted to join with the U.S. Trotting Association, the Museum and Historic Track in supporting this important event,” says Ellen Taylor, executive director of the Youth Foundation. “We want to engage our youth in every aspect of the sport. This is a great chance for our kids to give back to the animals that give us all so much.”
