Toronto, ON — On Thursday evening at Woodbine, Scott Zeron, two months shy of his 24th birthday, made harness racing history as he became the youngest driver in the sport to reach 2,000 wins.

Scott Zeron reached 2,000 career wins on Thursday night at Woodbine.

Zeron was only two victories back of the milestone coming into Thursday, but he completed the quest in four races when he found the winners circle in the second dash with Express Jet (1:55.4), before reaching the plateau with Lark Seelster (1:57.4) in race four.

“I was the youngest Canadian driver to hit 1,000 wins before 22, before Doug McNair beat me and now I’m the youngest to 2,000 wins,” Zeron said. “It feels terrific; I don’t know what to say. It’s an amazing feeling and I just hope I can keep the streak going and reach 3,000 wins.”

Matt Kakaley previously held the record when he recorded it one month prior to his 24th birthday.

Zeron, a resident of Oakville, has accumulated over $25 million in purse earnings.

He has been an O’Brien Award finalist for Canada’s Driver of the Year for the third straight year.

Zeron currently leads all drivers on the WEG circuit for both wins and money.
