East Rutherford, NJ — Like a pair of heavyweight boxers, Scott Zeron and David Miller battled back and forth all Saturday (July 23) night long over the course of the 13-race program at the Meadowlands, and when Miller delivered the final blow, emerging with Rebel Jet ($9.80 to win) from just off the pace to win the finale, the duo ended the night deadlocked with five winners each.

Dealt A Winner dominated his rivals in the featured pacing contest at the Meadowlands.

Zeron scored with Aldebaran Eagle ($7.20) in the third, Odds On Delray ($3.20) in the fourth, Winning Linc ($42.80) in the fifth, Lindythefourteenth ($14.80) in the eighth and Moonlight Ransom ($4.80) in the 10th.

Miller’s earlier winners were Dial Or Nodial ($3.00) in the second, Dealt A Winner ($6.00) in the sixth, Bettor Rock On N ($4.20) in the seventh and Intheblinkofaneye ($2.80), who dead-heated with Yippity Hanover, in the ninth.

‘WINNER’ DOMINANT: Dealt A Winner destroyed six overmatched foes in the featured $17,500 conditioned pace. The 4-year-old gelded son of Cam’s Card Shark was never threatened on the way to five-length win over Clear Vision in 1:48.2 for trainer Mark Silva.

JACKPOT HIT: One lucky bettor hit the fifth race 20-cent Jackpot Super High Five and walked away with $47,949.90. The winning combination of 1-3-4-9-2 saw a 20-1 shot win the race and a 60-1 finish fifth.

Trainer Tony Alagna led the trainer colony with three winners on the card.

Racing resumes at the Big M Friday (July 29) at 7:15 p.m.
