Negotiating team claims they never planned to meet with Gural

Columbus, OH — The New York Daily News is reporting that the members of the negotiating team from Local 137, the union that represents the mutuel tellers at the Meadowlands, that did not attend a Wednesday meeting with Jeff Gural, never planned to take part.

Gural, in a release sent to the media on Wednesday, stated that six of the seven members of union head Bob Ligouri’s negotiating committee boycotted the meeting, which he took as an insult.

“They didn’t have any plans of meeting with him,” Pat Bartolotta, president of Local 137, was quoted in the Daily News. “What Gural did was tell the newspapers that they were having a meeting (Wednesday) at 1 o’clock and never reached out to anybody, and when he finally did reach them, they said, ‘No, they weren’t going to go.'”
