Columbus, OH — New Jersey lawmakers have advanced a bill that would allow the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, which currently runs both The Meadowlands and Monmouth Park, to help operate The Big M for a one-year transition period, should a deal be reached between the state and Jeff Gural for the lease of the track.
According to a story in the Asbury Park Press, the Assembly will vote on the measure today.
The proposed law “will allow racing to continue without interruption as all the details and licensing involved in the transfer are completed,” said Assemblyman Ronald Dancer, a prime sponsor of the bill.
