East Rutherford, NJ — Saturday’s 2-year-olds began with two very impressive trotting colts both winning in 1:57.1 from different angles.

Nuncio, an Andover Hall-Nicole Isabelle colt from the Jim Oscarsson barn, away close and then shuffled, rolled by under no urging from young Kevin Oscarsson to win impressively to win the first. The second saw Southwind Spirit lead all the way to win by open lengths for Yannick Gingras with a 27.4 close to his mile. This Muscle Hill-Spice On Ice is from the Burke barn, owned in partnership with Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Stable 45.

Derby won the third after an up close trip for Ray Schnittker in 1:59. This Deweycheatumnhowe-Third Reef colt is owned by Ray with Kelk’s Inc, Ted Gewertz and the breeder, Jeff Gural’s Little E LLC.

The highest price trotting yearling sold last fall, a Muscle Hill-Emilie Cas El colt named Trixton, won this morning in 1:59.2. Gingras held him third behind a gapper and closed up nicely to get the win. He is from the Takter barn and is owned by Brixton Medical and Christina Takter.

Shake It Cerry (Donato Hanover-Solveig) won for the third time in these morning sessions and she looks like something special. Today’s romp was a front-end tour for Ron Pierce in 1:56.4 / 27.4 with the greatest of ease. Another Takter pupil, she is owned by her breeder, Solveig’s Racing Partners.

Pacers began in race 10 and Avalanche Hanover was an impressive 1:57.1 / 27.2 winner in his first outing for Tim Tetrick and Linda Toscano. He is a Somebeachsomewhere-Anadarko Hanover colt that required only one bid by Myron Bell to secure him for Brittany Farms, Katz, Libfeld & Goldband, Sbrocco and Little E LLC; granted the amount of that single bid was $200,000.

Tetrick and Toscano came right back with the filly JK Molly, an Art Major-Heather`s Western filly who finished her 1:56 mile in 27.3. She’s owned by the 3 Brothers Stables.

Put On A Display charged home from well back for Tetrick to win in 1:58.3 for the Put On A Show connections of trainer Chris Ryder and owners Richard and Joanne Young. She’s a $175,000 Somebeachsomewhere-Bj`s Canouan filly from the Lexington Select Yearling Sale.

Ideal Magic zipped to an effortless 1:53.3 win for Tetrick and Tony Alagna. He’s an impressive American Ideal-Special Magic colt owned by Cheap Speed Stable, Joe Sbrocco, Eagles Soar Partners and Louis Willinger.

Tellitlikeitis is the Well Said from Kikikatie, who has thrown nothing but fast horses, and this colt is no exception. He was a geared down 1:53.3 winner for Yannick, who never asked for speed. Takter trains for Lothlorien.

West Matters (Western Terror-Life Matters) romped in the finale for Andy Miller in 1:53.4. He’s owned by Andy and Omer Miller and Julie Miller is the trainer.
