Baltimore, MD — On Wednesday, August 25, United States District Court Judge Richard D. Bennett denied the motions of the Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association, The Maryland Jockey Club and related parties to reconsider his earlier ruling in an anti-trust lawsuit filed on behalf of the owners of Rosecroft Raceway in United States District Court.
Kelley Rogers, President of Cloverleaf Enterprises said, “I am very pleased that Judge Bennett quickly dismissed the Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s and the Maryland Jockey Club’s Motion to Reconsider. The Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen and The Maryland Jockey Club mounted an aggressive case to dismiss and I am happy Judge Bennett rejected their arguments. I am equally pleased he dismissed their baseless request to Reconsider.
“Now, I am looking forward to the discovery phase of this case. The facts are clear and the evidence will be overwhelming as to their actions.”
Rosecroft Raceway is the only race track in Prince Georges County.
