Dover, DE – Warrens Charm won the $50,959 Bally’s Dover Later Closing Series Final for three-year-old pacing fillies (DSBF eligibles) at Bally’s Dover on Wednesday (April 1) night.
Eighteen-year-old provisional driver Ryder Skinner got the opportunity to drive in the biggest race of his life for his trainer/Father Jason Skinner. Lovers Cay gained the early advantage and aggressively parked out Meemaw’s Column from post 4 and Warrens Charm from post six approaching the quarter pole.

The opening quarter was reached in :26.4. Meemaw’s Column found a seat in the pocket. Warrens Charm continued to race parked and cleared the lead in front of the stands. Warrens Charm, the 1/5 betting favorite continued confidently on lead passing the half in :55.3, a :28.4, Meemaw’s Column braved the first over journey up the backstretch. Lovers Cay remained content in the pocket.
Warrens Charm was unchallenged and cruised to the three quarters in 1:24 flat, a :28.2 quarter as the field struggled to keep pace. Warrens Charm drew off in the stretch and won by two and a half-length. She won in 1:52.2 and paid $2.60 for the victory. Nicki’s Watching closed to finish second and Lovers Cay was third.
Warrens Charm (He’s Watching) is owned by Rodney Wyatt and Jason Skinner both from Delaware. The breeder is Odds On Nourrir. After the race the 18-year-old provisional driver Ryder Skinner was asked if he was confident or nervous racing in a big race, he responded by saying. “I was confident of her ability despite being parked a long way. Trainer Jason Skinner when asked what the thought process was in giving his son the driving assignment. Jason responded by saying. “His mom wanted him to drive.”
Thursday’s betting card features the second race $51,300 Bally’s Dover Late Closing Series Final for three-year-old colt and gelding pacers.

Also on the card is the $25,000 Open Handicap Pace featuring the 2026 Horse Of The Bally’s Meet Downers Delight. Wehadababyetzaboy brings his three race win streak into the race.
