$20,000 guaranteed pool for Pompano Pick-5 Sunday

by Gabe Prewitt, for Pompano Park

Pompano Beach, FL — The Pick-5 started off with three consecutive short prices on Saturday (Feb. 13) at the Isle Casino Pompano Park, but a couple of longshots in the final two legs resulted in no winning tickets, leaving a $4,514 carryover into Sunday night.

Track officials have placed an instant guarantee of $20,000 on the total pool for Sunday night. The Pick-5 covers the first five races on the program and features a 50-cent minimum.

Although there were no winning tickets in the Pick-5, it was the night of one winning ticket in the other featured exotics in South Florida. The fourth race Pentafecta returned $18,512.60 for the 20-cent combination to a single winner, while the 50-cent Pick-4 resulted in a ‘pool shot’ as well, worth $12,980.80. Last, but certainly not least, longshots dominated in the finale, resulting in a single unique winning ticket in the Jackpot Hi-Five worth $110,291.70 for 20 cents.

The Pentafecta, Pick-4, and Jackpot Hi-Five will all start fresh on Sunday night.

Live racing continues at the Isle Casino Pompano Park on a five-night per week schedule, with a first post of 7:30 p.m. every Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening.
