2016 GSY Series kicks off at Meadowlands

East Rutherford, NJ — Under beautiful skies and 48 degreeweather, the 2016 GSY Amateur Series began this week at The Meadowlands. A field of 10 went to post with a lot ofaction and excitement throughout the entire race.

Celebrity Stimulus, driven by Dave Yarock, one of the organizersbehind the series, took the lead in 28.1, but was quickly quartered-moved by driverRobert Krivelin aboard Current Crisis. He held the lead until the top of the stretch where he was overtaken by2015 Amateur Driver of the Year, Hannah Miller, who drove Jacks To Open to histhird victory of the season. Miller wasparked the entire mile and still held on to a neck victory over a fast-closingTropical Storm Bi, making his season debut with Anthony Ciuffetelli in thebike. IC Caviar with James Marshall IVwas a length behind and finished third.

The race was timed in 1:58. The series continues next Friday night with one or two divisions goingto post. Come out and enjoy theexcitement of one of the most popular and fastest growing spectacles in thesport of harness racing.
